They’re willing to concede, though, that this can strike fear into the introvert’s heart.

So they have a trick for working the room, as unnatural as it feels: create an “author persona.”

You don’t adopt a whole new personality; you just fine-tune a few aspects of your existing one to power you through the appearance.
