Author Siera London likes to call herself a plotster — she does a minimal amount of plotting and a fair amount of pantsing.

However, pantsing brings a risk that you'll create a scene that ultimately doesn't add to your final work.

So London has developed some basic guidelines for herself whenever she writes a scene to make sure she stays on track. She explains it in the video below.
