Are you a crazy animal person who’s also crazy about British history? Great news if so — a memoir that’s perfect for you just came out!

Legend has it that if the ravens who live at the Tower of London leave it, the building will crumble.

Christopher Skaife’s job is to ensure that doesn’t happen. (The ravens departing, that is; he doesn’t take credit or responsibility for preserving the Tower’s integrity.)

His memoir is titled The Ravenmaster: My Life With the Ravens at the Tower of London, and you can listen to him discuss its contents below or read the transcript on NPR’s website.
