In these polarized times, it’s encouraging to know that some things can still unite us.
And one of those things is a shared passion for books.
AbeBooks, the Amazon-owned secondhand-book marketplace, had told shops in Czech Republic, Hungary, Russia, and South Korea that it wouldn’t support them after this month because of a change in payment providers.
In response, the Guardian reported, almost six hundred booksellers in nearly thirty countries took their books off AbeBooks in protest.
Officials from both sides of the dispute met Wednesday and agreed to continue as is until December 31, which gives them time to come up with a long-term solution.
