Lucia Berlin wrote for years, but fame eluded her until her short-story collection, A Manual for Cleaning Women, was published posthumously.

Luckily, the friend who compiled that volume left a few stories out.

So now the fans who didn’t have a chance to appreciate Berlin during her life can enjoy more work: Evening in Paradise, another short-story collection, hit the shelves Tuesday.
