Michelle Obama’s memoir Becoming flew off the shelves in record time.

The former first lady’s book has seen the strongest sales in its first week of any adult book since Go Set A Watchman in July 2015, according to Barnes & Noble.

In the process, it stole the honor of best first-week sales for 2018 from Bob Woodward’s Fear. (Not surprising, given that the Guardian observed that it sold nine copies per second on its first day.)

Becoming has also sat firmly in the top spot on Amazon since November 9.

CNN credits ongoing interest in the former first family as well as a nationwide book tour for the book’s sizzling sales.
