Movie star Rock Hudson’s legacy went well beyond his film roles, as we all know.
Hudson’s death, publicly acknowledged to be of complications from AIDS, resulted in a dramatic reframing of the disease.
But of course that’s simply the end of his story; a new biography looks at everything leading up to Hudson’s death, including the sad details of life as a closeted gay man before LGBT rights existed.
