Why Henry David Thoreau is rolling over in his grave

In the hustle and bustle of modern life, do you ever wish you could make like Henry David Thoreau and just retreat to a cabin on a pond?

Well, USC's Game Innovation Lab has made that possible ... somewhat.

In honor of Thoreau’s two hundredth birthday this year, a team turned Walden into a video game.

NPR’s Jason Sheehan tried his hand at Walden, A Game, in which one spends eight season as Thoreau — building a cabin, clearing your fields, spending a night in jail for not paying taxes, borrowing books from Ralph Waldo Emerson, etc.
