As cat lovers, we were dying to share this poem about a legendary Icelandic winter feline on Christmas.

But this is no lap kitty, and we're no Grinches. 

Jólakotturinn — the Yule Cat — will eat children who don’t work hard, who don’t receive new clothes at Christmas time, or who don’t provide it an offering of new garments as well.

Johannes ur Kotlum’s classic poem about the fearsome feline can be enjoyed (?) here in English, or if you’d prefer to hear it in Icelandic, Bjork’s song version of it is embedded below.
