It’s a Marie Kondo time of year, between her series launching on Netflix and the bevy of New Year’s resolutions that likely involve organization, in some way.

The Guardian’s Anakana Schofield, however, has dared to disagree with the anti-clutter icon in one area: books.

Schofield roundly rejects the idea that you should cull your book collection and demand that each tome spark joy in you or reflect your values.
