Well-done, Fussy fans — you almost certainly helped send local libraries to a lending record!

Rakuten OverDrive announced Tuesday that a record 65 public library systems each lent over 1 million digital books to readers in 2018.

Globally, libraries recorded over 274 million digital checkouts (including ebooks and audiobooks) last year, which is a 22 percent increase over 2017.

The most popular ebook last year, according to OverDrive, was Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng, while Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling was the hottest audiobook.

You can see the top five for each format, plus the most popular digital book by genre, in OverDrive’s full press release.
