With a movie about her receiving award nominations and buzz, the Guardian asks whether we should indeed forgive literary forger Lee Israel.

Journalist Kathryn Hughes’s piece shows considerable empathy for Israel and the circumstances she finds herself in — while she doesn’t answer the question posed in the title of Israel’s memoir (a line from one of her forgeries) or in the Guardian’s headline, she certainly underscores why at the very least we ought not to be bitter.
