The American Library Association has more awards to bestow on books — this time, for children’s and young-adult lit.

A complete list of the youth-media award winners is available in the ALA’s news release, but a few of the highlights are:

Randolph Caldecott Medal for Best Illustrated Children's Book: Hello Lighthouse, written and illustrated by Sophie Blackall.

John Newbery Medal for Best Children's Book: Merci Suárez Changes Gears, by Meg Medina.

Coretta Scott King Award for Text: A Few Red Drops: The Chicago Race Riot of 1919, by Claire Hartfield.

Coretta Scott King Award for Illustration: The Stuff of Stars, written by Marion Dane Bauer and illustrated by Ekua Holmes.

The winners were announced today at the ALA's Midwinter Meeting in Seattle, Washington.
