April Fools’ Day isn’t the only time of year that people fall for tricks.

The New York Times, in the spirit of the holiday, reminds readers of several dramatic literary hoaxes from the past century.

Not necessarily related to books, though still topical: the Guardian explores why smart people are more likely to fall for false claims.
