It’s all Susan Orlean all the time with us right now, apparently — days after we saw her in Des Moines, news broke that she was adapting The Library Book for television.

Variety broke the news yesterday, and we’ve confirmed through other sources that it wasn’t an April Fools’ Day joke.

The Library Book tells the story of the 1986 fire at the Los Angeles Public Library, but it also explores the cultural value and evolution of libraries along with the institution’s history in Los Angeles.

It has been on the New York Times nonfiction bestseller list for six months.
