Geeks of all varieties should be excited about a recent find at the University of Copenhagen.
A manuscript summarizing every book in the library of Hernando Colón — Christopher Columbus’s illegitimate son — has been found in its archives.
The Libro de los Epítomes manuscript has over 2,000 pages and was donated upon a scholar’s death in 1730, but it was overlooked for centuries because the vast majority of the other 3,000 items in the donation were in Icelandic or Scandinavian languages, according to the Guardian.
Colón’s goal had been to create the largest library in history, and about a quarter of his 15,000 volumes have survived.
