In times of heartache, most bookworms turn to their favorite pastime as solace.

The French are currently no exception to that generalization.

The Guardian reports that The Hunchback of Notre-Dame has claimed several spots on Amazon France’s bestseller list — first, third, fifth, seventh, and eight — just days after a fire severely damaged the titular cathedral.

Nestled among the various editions of Victor Hugo’s classic? A history of the cathedral, in sixth place.
