Let’s wrap up the day with another cheery child-related story.

Scientific American’s “60-Second Science” mini-podcast reports that just being around books can benefit youngsters later in life.

The researchers who did the study cited in the show found that kids raised in a home with a large library demonstrated greater literacy, number sense, and technological know-how later in life — regardless of how much they read.
