Congratulations to author Jokha Alharthi and translator Marilyn Booth on winning the Man Booker International Prize!

Alharthi’s novel Celestial Bodies, a coming-of-age story for her native Oman, became the first Arabic book to win this award yesterday evening.

She and Booth will split the £50,000 prize (about $63,000).
