A 1924 letter from Ernest Hemingway to his father was just sold for over $25,000, but left us very curious about the response it received.

Never before published, the letter — auctioned off on June 13 — talks about the recipient’s grandson at great length ... after the author complains about how terrible he is at bullfighting.

We hope Papa’s dad encouraged him to focus more on parenthood than extreme sports in the response.

See more from the letter, including actual images from it, on Atlas Obscura.
