Congratulations to Cressida Cowell, the author and illustrator of How to Train Your Dragon, on being named the UK children’s laureate!
Cowell is the eleventh writer to receive the honor, which is given every two years to a children’s author or illustrator of outstanding achievement.
Her Dragon series has sold more than 11 million copies worldwide, in addition to being adapted into a hit movie, according to the Guardian, which also shares her to-do list for her term — including a push to make school libraries mandatory.
