Allison Robicelli has, to put it mildly, an incredible professional résumé, excelling in:

The cooking world, co-owning a bakery that landed on must-visit-in-NYC lists and being nominated for a James Beard award.

The literary world, publishing the critically acclaimed cookbook/memoir Robicelli's: A Love Story, With Cupcakes and writing for Taste, Serious Eats, and Thrillist.

And the podcast world, co-hosting The Robicelli Argument Clinic Podcast with her husband (who is no slouch himself).

So it’s not surprising, we guess, that a publishing company reached out to her on Twitter with an invitation to write a book highlighting the 100 best restaurants in Washington, D.C.

What is surprising ... at least to those not well-versed in the modern economics of publishing houses ... are the terms and budget they offered her.
