How writers can break out of a creative or professional slump

You’ve heard “dance like nobody’s watching” (and perhaps, depending on your level of cynicism, rolled your eyes at it).

So here’s a natural corollary: write like nobody’s reading.

Kira Jane Buxton had always been a writer, but she found herself in a creative slump in her late twenties.

Buxton’s husband, noticing her despondency, suggested she take on something that was totally a passion project.

In essence, write like no one would read it.

That advice ended up being a turning point for Buxton’s writing career, and she shares her lessons from it in Writer’s Digest.
