Writer’s Digest has a new post on how to write a science-fiction novel, but the simplicity of that title undersells the amount of specific advice.

The section on how to start, for example, shares a post on the four approaches for the first chapter as well as bestsellers’ advice on how to open a novel right.

The part on how to write it, meanwhile, covers such topics as fictional technology, world-building, subplots, character development, and adding emotion.

And the section on ending a novel includes motivation for actually finishing, recommendations for what not to do, and suggestions for writing a series.
