We shared Barack Obama’s late-summer reading list last week, and we were by no means alone.

The sheer number of sites and people who passed along the former president’s book picks led InsideHook to ruminate on his literary legacy.

Several in the book industry noted that there’s a definite “Obama effect” after he mentions or praises a work, and one book-seller pointed to the diversity (and approachability) of his lists, compared with other would-be influencers.
