A newly published book has the ultimate cliffhanger ending: its author passed away over a decade ago.

Francoise Sagan, author of Bonjour Tristesse, died in 2004, having written two hundred pages of a book titled Four Corners of the Heart.

Her son Denis Westhoff found the manuscript and first offered it to Sagan’s editor, who declined to publish it.

So Westhoff made the revisions himself — in some cases, adding missing words; in other cases, adding passages — before publishing it, according to Agence France-Presse.
