Now this is the kind of library-related news we like to hear.

Author Philip Roth, who died May 22, 2018, has left not only his entire book collection to the Newark Public Library, but also at least $2 million.

NJ.com, citing a report in the Wall Street Journal, says the money will, of course, boost the library’s general collection.

Additional funding was planned so the library could renovate a special space for Roth’s 7,000-book collection.
