Rules comfort some of us — and chafe many others.
We have some good news for writers in the latter camp: many rules, in fact, were made to be broken.
Kathy Steinemann, author of The Writer's Lexicon, shared eighteen writing “rules” that you can stop following, spread across four blog posts.
One post does reference its predecessor, so it might be best to begin with one through six (which also contains links to the next three posts).
But, in the spirit of a rule-breaking post, we won’t tell you that you MUST start with the first post …
