A memoir coming out next week acknowledges, publicly, the writer’s romantic relationship with a pop superstar.

Robyn Crawford confirms in A Song For You: My Life with Whitney Houston, which releases November 12, that she and the late singer weren’t simply platonic friends.

In an excerpt published by People magazine and confirmed by NBC, Crawford writes that Houston’s record deal ended their physical connection.

Houston was afraid that it would jeopardize her career, a fear that Crawford didn’t dispute.

You can read more about Crawford and why she decided to share this news on NBC’s website.
