The New York Times and the Washington Post have both shared their early thoughts about the contents of A Warning.
The book, written anonymously by someone described as a senior official in the Trump administration, comes out November 19.
The Post calls it a “chilling portrait of the president as cruel, inept and a danger to the nation he was elected to lead,” though he acknowledges that some anecdotes lack either detail or evidence, likely to help preserve the author’s anonymity.
Meanwhile, the Times was less charitable in its review, observing that the author’s anonymity indirectly (or even directly) undermines some of its complaints about lack of character, and questioning whether any of its revelations are truly that shocking.
