Maybe Hollywood isn’t on your list of goals.

That’s okay, though — Joanna Penn’s latest podcast guest still has plenty of wisdom to share with you.

Ken Atchity, formerly a professor, is now an author, producer, literary manager, and editor.

If nothing else, check out his advice on creating a log line to pitch a movie idea — we’re sure you’ll still use a single-sentence description of your story at some point in marketing, even if it’s simply a test to make sure you have a clear premise for your story.

And for those who do have an interest in sending their stories to a screen, Atchity has some basic tips in the podcast as well as book recommendations for a more in-depth education.

You can listen to Penn and Atchity talk or read a transcript of their conversation on The Creative Penn.
