Albert Uderzo, who illustrated the beloved Asterix comic series, has died at the age of ninety-two.

His son-in-law told media that Uderzo passed away from a heart attack not related to the coronavirus outbreak.

Uderzo and writer René Goscinny created the character Asterix in 1959, and in the decades since, over 370 million copies of their work have been sold.

You can read more about Uderzo and his creation in the Guardian’s obituary.
