An award-winning Portuguese author has launched a serial-novel project in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

More than forty writers responded to Ana Margarida de Carvalho’s invitation for each to take a turn writing the next chapter in a novel that starts with a group of scientists trying to end a pandemic.

You might think “great, but I don’t speak or read Portuguese” — and that’s no big deal, because the project has picked up translators working to bring the story into English, as well as Italian, French, Spanish, and Dutch.
