Congratulations to the winners of the 2020 Pulitzer Prize!

You can browse a complete list on the prize website, but here are the bookish recipients:

In addition to honoring work in journalism and other mediums, the Pulitzer board this year gave a posthumous honor to Ida B. Wells, the journalist and suffragist who documented lynching in the United States.

This year’s prizes were also noteworthy in that the ceremony went virtual and also took place a few weeks later than normal, to allow the journalists who judge the awards more time as they continue covering the coronavirus pandemic.

The Pulitzer website includes a quick preview of each book, along with the two runners-up for each category; for a critical take, the New York Times links to its reviewers’ commentary in its roundup.
