Apple has announced that it’s ending its iBooks Author program.

In an email to users, it said the app will disappear from its store on July 1, though older Mac products will still support it.

The Digital Reader said the move shouldn’t be unexpected, as Apple has added a browser-based publishing portal and ebook creation features to Pages.

For a little bit more about the move, if you didn’t receive Apple's email, head to The Digital Reader.
