Memes come and memes go, but the catchphrase “spoiler alert” hasn’t faded away in the past few decades.

And Sharon Bially, founder of a PR firm for books and authors, has definitely seen its influence on the clients she serves.

Often, she says, writers are concerned about giving too much away, thinking that readers will be satisfied with what they read in advance and not pick up the book.

Bially wants to dispel that myth, which she addresses in a post on Writer Unboxed, where she shares techniques of how to reveal details that pull readers in along with case studies that prove her point.
