Barbara Kingsolver talks about pursuing her passion for poetry

Many of us know Barbara Kingsolver best through her novels, such as The Poisonwood Bible and Unsheltered.

She, however, knows herself best through poetry, which she describes as “the thing that I always did just because I loved it.” 

Now, after a few years of writing poems and setting them aside, Kingsolver has gone ahead and published a collection of them.

She spoke with NPR’s Rachel Martin about How to Fly (In Ten Thousand Easy Lessons) about the poems and their relevance to the COVID era, despite having been written before it in some cases.
