We’re putting on our therapist hat today and sharing a few posts that focus on the psychological part of writing.

Writer and editor Belinda Pollard was excited to produce her first novel and, initially, excited to write a sequel to it.

But then she hit a wall and stayed there for more than two years.

Fortunately, she finally broke through and completed the book, and perhaps even more importantly, she put her finger on the two underlying issues that thwarted her — and might resonate with you.

And so she developed five coping tactics for writer’s block, which you might find valuable.

In a similar vein, writing coach C.S. Lakin recently learned via email survey that the biggest issue facing her subscribers is the inability to finish a project.

Sometimes, that’s because of factors outside of our control, but quite often, we and our own self-defeating behaviors are at the root of the problem.

So Lakin has shared three ways to fight self-sabotage over at Live Write Thrive.
