Poet Louise Glück was officially announced as this year’s Nobel Prize in Literature winner a few hours ago.

So naturally the focus has shifted from straight news to analysis and reaction.

The New York Times has created an interactive list of five of Glück’s collections to check out, along with favorite excerpts from each.

Fellow poet Fiona Sampson also highlights some of her favorite poems, in an essay for the Guardian on why she has deeply admired Glück for many years.

And while the last piece we’re sharing was published a day ago, it didn’t seem right to share it along with the victory announcement.

So here’s one writer’s argument for why the winner, whoever it wound up being, should feel compelled to turn down the 2020 Nobel Prize in Literature.
