The Justice Department is suing the author of a book about Melania Trump.

Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, a former friend and employee of sorts of the first lady, released Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship with The First Lady on September 1.

The book, according to the DOJ, violates a confidentiality clause that Winston Wolkoff signed in becoming an adviser to Trump.

Before Melania and Me's release, the DOJ warned Winston Wolkoff not to publish it, but her attorney responded then that the government had “formally terminated” the confidentiality agreement.

Winston Wolkoff told NBC News yesterday that she is defending herself against “false, misleading and defamatory information” that Donald and Melania Trump have released about her.
