The Book of Lismore is returning home to Ireland.
This 15th-century medieval manuscript was captured by the British in a siege of an Irish castle in the 1640s but will now become the property of University College Cork, reports the Guardian.
The Book of Lismore comprises almost two hundred vellum folios that cover such topics as the lives of Irish saints and an Irish translation of the travels of Marco Polo.
A spokesperson for the university said it expected to display the Book of Lismore in a publicly accessible gallery.
