Jonathan Franzen has revealed details about his next book release.

Crossroads: A Novel: A Key to All Mythologies, Volume 1 will come out October 5, 2021 — the first book in a planned trilogy — reports Literary Hub.

The novel tells the story of the Hildebrandt family, composed of parents Russ and Marion, who are both seeking an exit from their marriage, and their three children, each of whom is seeking to make a dramatic life change as well.

Franzen is best known for The Corrections, which won the National Book Award in 2001, in addition to other novels and nonfiction work.

He’s also famous (or infamous) for derisive comments he made about talk show host Oprah Winfrey’s book club and the subsequent withdrawal of his invitation to appear on her show.
