Almost fifty years after it was first announced, Harlan Ellison’s sci-fi anthology may finally be published.
The Guardian reports that J. Michael Straczynski, appointed executor of Ellison’s estate after his wife's death this year, has launched a Patreon account to which fans can contribute and help publish The Last Dangerous Visions.
The anthology was supposed to have been published in 1974 and was rumored to include works by Frank Herbert, Anne McCaffrey, Octavia Butler and Daniel Keyes.
Straczynski told the Guardian that, if published, the anthology’s proceeds will go toward creating the Harlan and Susan Ellison Memorial Library.
Ellison died June 27, 2018; his wife, Susan, died August 3, 2020.
