Kristine Kathryn Rusch’s year-in-review series has arrived at the topic of audiobooks.

In an oddly refreshing departure from other posts about 2020, part of the analysis actually isn’t about how COVID affected audiobook sales (though of course part of it is).

The other major change Rusch wants you to consider in terms of the audiobook market: that Audible alternatives are popping up.

She closes the post with a discussion of how other types of art have adapted, not as a rigid guidebook to follow but as a reminder that great innovation can (and must) come from disruption, no matter the area.

Head to Rusch’s blog for her reflections on audiobooks in 2020.
