Help Kwame Alexander write a new poem

To mark Martin Luther King Jr. Day this year, NPR’s resident poet wants to write a poem — with everyone’s help.

King’s famous “I Have A Dream” speech drew inspiration from the Langston Hughes poem “I Dream A World,” and so Kwame Alexander is inviting you to do the same.

The only rules for the project are that it begin with the line “I dream a world” and then describe the change you’re hoping for.

Alexander will use submissions to create a crowdsourced poem, which he’ll read on air with Rachel Martin. (It will also be published online.)
