What do Louise Penny and James Patterson have in common, besides impressive sales and an avid fan base?

Co-authoring credits with a member of the Clinton family.

News broke this morning that Penny, author of the Armand Gamache novels, is teaming up with Hillary Clinton on an “international political thriller” starring a secretary of state.

(You may remember that Bill Clinton teamed up with Patterson on two political thrillers of their own, these ones about — of course — presidents past and present.)

Penny and Hillary Clinton have been friends since 2016, according to the Guardian, and the latter described their new partnership as “a dream come true.”

State of Terror will come out in October; it follows a novice secretary of state who is confronted, early on, by a series of terror attacks that take place after her rival is inaugurated to end “four years of American leadership that shrank from the world stage.”

Hillary Clinton has previously published two memoirs and has also co-written books for younger readers with her daughter, Chelsea.
