HarperCollins has acquired the publishing rights to all of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s archives.

Publishers Weekly revealed the news that King’s estate struck the deal, which covers all formats — ebooks, audiobooks, children’s books, and graphic novels included.

It notes that HarperCollins promises to hire an archivist to oversee the project and to include prominent Black figures in the process of bringing King’s works to life.

The first publications to emerge from this deal are expected out in January 2022, to coincide with Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
