Software engineer Daniel de Haas recently wrote a program that was able to identify words that shared an etymology despite having very different (not opposite, just different) meanings.

And he highlighted many of those surprising linguistic relatives in a blog post, which we found thanks to Lit Hub — and which you can now share at parties when the conversation hits a lull.
