Today’s adaptation news covers two vastly different books.
Deadline was the first to reveal that the 1965 children’s book Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile by Bernard Waber will become a movie.
Oscar-winning actor Javier Bardem, known for such adult fare as Biutiful and No Country For Old Men, will star in the film, which is set for a July 2022 release.
Variety, meanwhile, has shared that How Much of These Hills Is Gold — C. Pam Zhang’s Booker-longlisted debut novel — has a TV adaptation deal.
No word yet on where and when you can watch it or who will star, but playwright and screenwriter Hansol Jung, who also worked on an adaptation of Pachinko by Min Jin Lee, will write the Gold adaptation, too.
