A paragraphing technique that bloggers and journalists make frequent use of can also benefit your fiction.

That would be the single-sentence paragraph, the topic of a recent writing-style post from editor Louise Harnby.

The caveat here is that while blogging and journalism benefit from frequent use of the technique, fiction is better served by sparing but powerful use of it.

Harnby shares five reasons to use a single-sentence paragraph, along with illustrative examples from other literature, in her blog.
